Objectives
  1. Describe the multidisciplinary approach to fetal cardiac care delivery in a rural state.
  2. Discuss the importance of a transition program for adolescents with CHD.
  3. Review pregnancy in congenital heart disease and multidisciplinary assessment of maternal and fetal risk using the Iowa experience.
  4. Discuss the role of a genetic counselor and review indications for a genetic counseling referral.
  5. Review common genetic testing technologies.
  6. Identify options for transition to therapy support after discharge.
  7. Discuss neurodevelopmental activity progression while adhering to sternal precautions.
  8. Describe how palliative care teams can support prognostic awareness, decision-making, and symptom management throughout the trajectory of a serious cardiac disease.
  9. Review the basics of 3-D printing and virtual reality.
  10. Show the utility of 3-D printing and virtual reality in diagnosis and procedural planning.
  11. Identify the utility of 3-D printing and virtual reality as an educational tool for trainees, providers and patients.
  12. Explain the role of COC on a multidisciplinary team.
  13. Identify the role of exercise and activity in growth and development across age groups.
  14. Review basic exercise prescription in the setting of CHD.
  15. Discuss the use of exercise as a medicine.
  16. Review the various ways a support group can be beneficial for patients and families.

Accreditation

Certificates
CME certificates, nursing CEU certificates, and participation certificates for all other attendees will be available upon completion of a post-conference evaluation (a link and instructions will be e-mailed at the conclusion of the conference). The evaluation will prompt attendees to attest to the number of hours they attended, and that is the number of hours/credits that the attendee will be awarded. Submission of a complete evaluation will generate a certificate. The evaluation must be completed - hours/credits won't be awarded automatically, and certificates won't be mailed.

CME Accreditation Statement 
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Nurses
The University of Iowa College of Nursing is an Iowa Board of Nursing provider #1. With full time attendance, 10.5 contact hours will be awarded. For Thursday-only attendance, 4.5 contact hours will be awarded, and for Friday-only attendance, 6.0 contact hours will be awarded.

From Ramp 3, follow the ramp sky walk on Level 2 to the main hospital (quick left and right turns then straight), take fork to the right and conference room is on the right across from elevator F on 2nd floor.

From Ramp 4, follow the ramp sky walk on Level 2 to the main hospital, turn right once inside, follow main hospital corridor past elevators I and H (on the right), continue to elevator F and the conference room is on the left.
