Perianesthesia (PACU) Nursing Conference

The 2021 Perianesthesia Nursing Conference is designed to provide an update on a variety of topics of interest to pre and post anesthesia nurses

Iowa Board of Nursing, Provider #34 (4.25 hours), Non-Nurse Attendance (4.25 hours)

1. List guidelines for gender-affirming bottom surgery
2. Describe options for gender-affirming bottom surgery
3. Discuss the pharmacologic and clinical difference between short and long acting spinal anesthetic medications used in the perioperative setting
4. Distinguish the perioperative clinical evaluation considerations for short and long acting spinal anesthetic medications
5. Review the most common interventions in pediatric catheterization lab
6. Outline the immediate needs of post- patients, including bedrest, post testing, oxygen saturation ranges
7. Discuss considerations for admission versus observation
8. Explain the definition of Imposter Syndrome
9. Identify steps that can be taken to undo Imposter Syndrome
10. Discuss systems that contribute to creating Imposter Syndrome
11. Discuss the impact the natural disasters can have on self
12. Describe how patient care can be impacted by the Perianesthesia nurse

Nursing Credits: 4.25 contact hours will be granted by UI Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing (IBN Approved Provider #34).  Participants must attend the entire program to receive full credit.
