Pediatric Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (PFCCS)

PFCCS is a major resource for those interested in developing or refreshing their skills regarding the recognition of critical illnesses in children and the initiation of life-saving interventions for the critically ill pediatric patient. It will also serve as a valuable education tool for those in the fields of transport medicine, emergency medicine, pediatric hospital medicine, and pediatric critical care.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (16.25 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (16.25 hours)

1. Prioritize assessment needs for the critically ill pediatric patient
2. Select appropriate diagnostic testing
3. Identify & respond to significant changes in the unstable patient
4. Recognize & initiate management of acute life-threatening conditions
5. Determine the need for expert consultation and/or patient transfer, and prepare the practitioner for optimally accomplishing transfer
