2022 AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring

This 1-day instructor-led course is designed to prepare clinicians to care for patients with complex fetal heart monitoring tracings.
Course components include:
• Complex case studies that include recommended interventions
• Communicating with colleagues
• Advanced principles of maternal-fetal physiology
• Optional online post-test is available (required for UIHC staff)

1. Describe physiologic principles of maternal and fetal oxygen transfer as they apply to principles of fetal heart monitoring.
2. Appraise the fetal response to maternal pathological and physiological adaptations during the labor process.
3. Analyze complex case studies and tracings using standardized terminology.
4. Apply perinatal risk management principles, communication techniques, and documentation strategies to complex and challenging patient care scenarios.

Course Fees:

• UIHC OB nurses working on the in-patient units: $0.
• All other registrants:  $177, which includes the AWHONN required course workbook.
• Payment of fees required at the time of registration. 
• Registration deadline April 7, 2022. 

Refund Policy: Full refund (minus $10 cancellation fee) if notification received on or before the registration deadline, April 7, 2022.

Participants who attend the full day of the course are awarded seven (7) hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) credit or seven (7) hours of continuing medical education (CME) credit. The course includes an optional posttest with 80% being the requirement for successful completion. AWHONN is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. AWHONN also holds a California BRN number: California CNE provider #CEP580. Accredited status does not imply endorsement by AWHONN or ANCC of any commercial products displayed or discussed in conjunction with an activity.
