Addiction Medicine Lecture Series

The Addiction Medicine Lecture Series is dedicated to topics in addiction medicine, organized and facilitated by the Department of Psychiatry.

CE credit for this activity is restricted to UI employees and adjuncts only (must have a HawkID).

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ANCC Contact Hours (1.00 hours), ASWB Clinical CE Credit (1.00 hours), IPCE Credit (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.00 hours)

1. Recognize substance use disorders across clinical environments and how these disorders affect healthcare outcomes.
2. Analyze and apply current knowledge on treatments of substance use disorders to clinical practice.
3. Employ multidisciplinary teams in the treatment of substance use disorders

Pharmacist: The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this knowledge-based activity for a maximum of 1.0 ACPE contact hours.  Credit will be uploaded to the NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.  Pharmacists must complete the online evaluation and provide their NABP ID and DOB (MMDD) to receive credit.   

Social Worker:  As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine  is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 clinical continuing education credit(s).

Other Provider: All other participants will receive a certificate of participation for this activity upon completion of the online evaluation.   It is the responsibility of each attendee to determine if the continuing education programs they attend meet the requirements of their professional licensure board.
