The 3rd Annual Substance Use in Pregnancy Regional Conference will aim to increase healthcare provider awareness of: maternal mortality, research models, harm reduction techniques for people with perinatal substance use disorders. Interdisciplinary teamwork will be discussed regarding the holistic treatment of perinatal substance use disorders, including person-centered care planning and lived experience. Lastly, the history of the CPS system and racism in the United States will be reviewed along with the intersection of incarceration and perinatal substance use disorders.

DEA Registrants:  Credits earned from this course may be used toward fulfillment of the MATE Act’s one-time training requirement for eight hours of accredited training related to the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. https://medicine.uiowa.edu/cme/substance-use-disorder-training-requirement
