PeriAnesthesia Nursing Conference 2024

This conference will be held virtually through Zoom

The purpose of this conference is to provide an update on a variety of topics of interest to enhance the knowledge of the PeriAnesthesia nurse. 

Iowa Board of Nursing, Provider #34 (4.25 hours), Non-Nurse Attendance (4.25 hours)

1. Discuss the perioperative management of opioid-tolerant patients.
2. Discuss the variety and scope of commonly performed oculoplastic procedures and the reasoning behind common post-operative instructions and restrictions.
3. Identify common urologic procedures and their pre/post operative considerations in order to continue providing excellent care for urologic patients.
4. Describe the factors that influence short-term patient outcomes in colon and rectal surgery.
5. Describe common reasons for retina surgery and why patients have to maintain certain positions after surgery.
6. Discuss the primary differences between a patient with a tracheostomy and a laryngectomy.

Registration Fee:

Non-UI Employees: $35; (Add $15 after 2/14/2024)
UI Employees: $25

Refund: Full (minus $10 cancellation fee) if notification received on or before 2/21/2024.

4.25 contact hours will be granted by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing (IBN Approved Providership #34).
