AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

The Intermediate FHM course promotes integration of knowledge and skills essential to nursing assessment, promotion, and evaluation of fetal safety during labor.


Non-Physician Attendance (11.25 hours)

1. Assess EFM tracings utilizing NICHD terminology.
2. Interpret EFM tracings, analyze uterine activity, and discuss contractions’ impact on fetal oxygenation.
3. Describe clinical interventions and the related maternal-fetal physiology.
4. Effectively communicate patient data through verbal and documentation methods.
5. Describe roles and responsibilities of health care providers when using FHM in intrapartum care.
6. Demonstrate selected fetal monitoring skills.

UIHC OB Nurses: No registration fee (Course materials will be provided)
UIHC OB Providers: No registration fee, AWHONN course materials must be purchased by attendee or attendees department 
External Attendees: $109 registration fee, AWHONN required course materials must be purchased by attendee

Prerequisites:  Complete online content 32 hours before the start of class. If the online program is not completed, you will not be allowed to take the live session. Online content will be available 30 days before the start of class.
