The Iowa Cardiovascular Summit will provide updates in cardiology, heart failure and electrophysiology guidelines for therapies including advanced heart failure treatments, mechanical circulatory support, pharmacological treatment as well as current device therapy for cardiac patients.

1. Discuss the pathophysiology and diagnosis of heart failure
2. Review the role of cardiac imaging in heart failure
3. Discuss the definition and classification of heart failure
4. Recognize clinical presentations of cardiac amyloidosis and sarcoidosis
5. Discuss unusual cardiomyopathy cases
6. Explain Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator therapies for heart failure
7. Review advances in cardiac resynchronization therapies
8. Identify emerging devices for treatment of heart failure
9. Explain treatments of cardiogenic shock and review benefits of mechanical support
10. Identify the best methods of treatments for atrial arrhythmias
11. Explain the treatment options for ventricular arrhythmias in heart failure
12. Identify patients at risk for pulmonary hypertension and discuss appropriate testing for diagnosis and treatment
13. Review imaging for valvular heart disease
14. Discuss imaging for left atrial appendage occlusion
15. Review Imaging for ventricular tachycardia and conduction system pacing
16. Explain high risk coronary intervention and use of mechanical circulatory support
17. Describe the management of syncope
18. Review cardio-oncology cases and describe arrhythmias seen with cancer
19. Identify sleep apnea and current methods of treatment

Registration includes dinner from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Ted Pacha Family Club (north end zone of Kinnick stadium) with an Iowa Sports speaker. Transportation from conference hotel will be provided. 

*Student is defined as an individual going to school full-time or part-time, not holding a current license to practice, and not needing CE credit. 

Cancellation Policy
All but $25 of the fee is refundable if inability to attend is made known on or before November 1, 2024. Refunds will not be made after this date.
