Presentations on current dermatologic topics from two external speakers, one Iowa faculty physician, and interesting cases from the Iowa dermatology residents.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (5.25 hours), AAPA Category 1 CME credit (5.25 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (5.25 hours)

1. Describe a rheumatologist’s approach to joint pain
2. Differentiate between inflammatory and non-inflammatory pain
3. Understand when to refer to rheumatology and how to reach out to rheumatology for urgent consults
4. Summarize what to do for your patient with inflammatory joint pain while they wait for their rheumatology appointment
5. To discuss the most recent interventional treatments in hair loss
6. To demonstrate the concept of follicular rescue
7. To review most common forms of hair loss in skin of color patients
8. To review literature on hyperpigmentation, keloids and acne in skin of color
9. To discuss the current treatment options for skin disease in patients of color
10. To underscore the pitfalls of treatment of skin disease in patients of color
11. Identify and describe the different medical and surgical interventions for treating hidradenitis suppurativa
12. Evaluate the role of advanced surgical procedures such as wide local excision, skin grafting, and laser therapy in the management of severe hidradenitis suppurativa
13. Discuss the latest evidence and guidelines on multidisciplinary approaches to hidradenitis suppurativa treatment
