Overview

The 2026 Annual Meeting of Iowa Radiological Society will explore Interventional Radiology imaging and procedures addressing a variety cutting-edge advances in liver-directed therapies, complex interventions, and diagnostic imaging.  Through focused lectures on liver cancer, portal vein thrombosis, complex ablations, and imaging follow-up, learners will gain practical insights to enhance patient care. The program also highlights emerging topics such as AI integration and workforce challenges, equipping attendees with the knowledge and tools to navigate a rapidly evolving field.

Building Entrance:  To enter MERF use the West Atrium Entrance. Follow the sidewalk on the west side of the building to the set of doors located at the top of the hill. The conference registration desk will be inside these doors.

Parking is available at standard hourly rates in the Newton Road Ramp, located at 360 Newton Road, across the street from the Medical Education and Research Facility.

  1. Recognize key diagnostic features and management considerations for enhanced myometrial vascularity and differentiate it from arteriovenous malformations
  2. Review current clinical approaches and outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma across treatment modalities
  3. Apply ACR LI-RADS criteria for accurate CT and MR characterization of liver lesions
  4. Evaluate technical strategies and outcomes for complex liver ablation procedures
  5. Describe the role of interventional radiology in the management of acute and chronic portal vein thrombosis
  6. Identify common pitfalls and best practices in imaging follow-up after focal liver therapies
  7. Integrate emerging applications of artificial intelligence into clinical radiology practice
  8. Discuss challenges and opportunities shaping the radiology workforce and future practice environments
