Overview

Pre-Conference Workshop for the Statewide Perinatal Conference.

The Obstetric Interdisciplinary Team Simulation Training Course is an all-day program designed to prepare obstetric teams in Iowa community hospitals, to implement interdisciplinary in-situ simulations. This program is co-sponsored by the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant for improving maternal and perinatal care in the state of Iowa.


Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (5.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (5.50 hours)

Target Audience
Specialties - Anesthesia, Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology


Objectives
  1. Delineate the steps in implementing a 1hour in-situ simulation drill
  2. Successfully prepare setting and pre-brief an in-situ simulation
  3. Effectively debrief a simulation
  4. Assess learner perception of objectives pre and post simulation

Registration

This educational conference and associated CME  and CE credits are provided at no charge courtesy of a grant funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for improving maternal and perinatal care in the state of Iowa.  

Limited to the first 40 registrants.

Accreditation

The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physician:  The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.   

Nurse: Iowa nurses may use participation in ACCME-accredited education toward their CE requirement for licensure. A certificate of participation will be available after successful completion of the activity.  Please review the Iowa Board of Nursing's website for more information.   

All other participants will receive a certificate of participation for this conference upon completion of the online evaluation.   It is the responsibility of each attendee to determine if the continuing education programs they attend meet the requirements of their professional licensure board.
