Objectives
  1. Discuss the basic services and benefits of Hospice Care, and translate that knowledge to the care of patients and their families.
  2. Discuss strategies for beginning the difficult conversations with patients related to starting hospice care.
  3. Apply new knowledge learned from this session to improve care for hospice patients with complex conditions such as delirium, skin breakdown, dementia and COVID-19.
  4. Describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the delivery of hospice care and how hospice can be improved from what we have learned during this difficult time.

Registration
There is no charge to listen to the podcast, but registration is required to obtain a credit certificate, and there is an $15.00 fee (no charge for UI Faculty, Staff and Adjuncts).

Accreditation

The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
