The 32nd Annual Rheumatology Symposium covers the topic of bone health for the rheumatologist. This activity will enable clinicians to apply state of the art knowledge in upholding the bone health of patients with rheumatologic conditions.

Objectives
  1. Identify the indications for osteoporosis screening
  2. Discuss the signs and symptoms of SAPHO (Synovitis, Acne, Pustulosis, and Hyperostosis)
  3. Justify the use of non-opioid medications for management of chronic pain in rheumatologic diseases

Accreditation

The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physician:  The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.   

Nurse:  Effective March 18, 2020, Iowa nurses may use participation in ACCME-accredited education toward their CE requirement for licensure.
