Pediatric Palliative Care: Putting the Pieces Together

This program will explore the challenges faced by health care providers and families when caring for pediatric patients with chronic conditions.

Objectives
  1. Describe the phenomena of liminality and how accompanying a patient/family through uncertainty characterizes the roles of interdisciplinary palliative care teams members.
  2. Describe the team-based approach to delivery of care for children with complex medical issues.
  3. List three essential components of perinatal palliative care and the three primary stakeholders in every encounter.
  4. Explain the role of medical genetics in the diagnosis and treatment of children with complex disorders.
