Objectives
  1. Understand the changes in diagnostic language, and the broader approaches to defining Alcohol Use Disorders and Co-occurring mental and substance use disorders
  2. Recognize and recommend the new pharmacological, community - group and cognitive behavioral therapies available for alcohol use disorders
  3. Pull together a comprehensive treatment plan for patients with Alcohol Use Disorders that includes therapy, support and medications

Registration
There is no charge to listen to the podcast, but registration is required to obtain a credit certificate, and there is a $11.25 credit fee (no charge for UI Faculty, Staff and Adjuncts).

Social Workers  
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine  is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 0.75 general continuing education credit(s).
