All health care providers who care for pediatric patients with chronic conditions are encouraged to join us. We will offer sessions covering the role of narrative, complex decision making and constructing difficult conversations. We will also address challenges in self-care for us as health care providers.

Objectives
  1. Recognize how complexity influences decision making and how to use decision narratives as tools.
  2. Apply critical thinking skills to determine how to go through a complex conversation with a family.
  3. Describe the experience of families who have children receiving palliative care support.
  4. Describe the layers beyond the words and how they impact families and clinicians.
  5. Understand why self-care is important but difficult for healthcare professionals.
  6. Discover how self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-advocacy are foundation for self-care.

Carver College of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
