Overview
The  purpose of this program is to increase knowledge by discussing issues with medications, nutrition, and physical activity related to obesity and diabetes.

Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (6.25 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (6.25 hours)

Objectives
  1. Describe the risk factors and pathogenesis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
  2. Discuss the natural history and complications of NAFLD and understand the therapeutic options for NAFLD
  3. Describe how to assess obesity and examine currently available therapies for weight management
  4. Discuss impact of diabetes and obesity on men’s health
  5. Examine available approaches for erectile dysfunction
  6. Identify potential health issues after bariatric surgery and examine strategies to improve long-term outcome after bariatric surgery
  7. Identify complications of diabetes during pregnancy, examine strategies to prevent complications, and discuss treatment options for glycemic control during pregnancy
  8. Describe how to utilize currently available diabetic medications to achieve optimum outcomes through personalized approaches
  9. Examine advancements in pharmacotherapy of diabetes
  10. Describe importance of screening for diabetic retinopathy
  11. Discuss how to apply newly available technologies for diabetic retinopathy
