  1. Critically evaluate supplements and other non-prescription options advertised for dementia prevention
  2. Explore the complexities of late life quality of life discussions.
  3. Distinguish the similarities and differences between the two - Palliative Care and Hospice Care
  4. Explain referrals and identify referring entities
  5. Demonstrate a structured approach to conducting an IPOST discussion
  6. Discuss environmental/behavioral approaches most frequently cited to prevent dementia
  7. Highlight important comorbid conditions that may be contributing to cognitive impairment
  8. Describe how the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention course can increase strength and balance.
  9. Discuss the program’s quality assurance results covered in the presentation.
  10. Describe how to register for Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention courses.
  11. Demonstrate the Tai Chi form Single Whip
  12. Define Palliative Care and Hospice Care
  13. Explain approaches to patient/family education
  14. Define end of life care and its significance in the healthcare journey.
  15. Elucidate the key principles of discussing end of life care
  16. Explain the importance and the ideal timing of introducing the In-Patient Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (IPOST) discussion.
  17. Understand the biological process of aging
  18. Understand the clinical relevance of the aging process
  19. Understanding the natural parts of aging: organ systems involved.
  20. Review polypharmacy, de-escalating therapy, and deprescribing

  • Other Allied Health Professionals and Students: $50.00

Refunds - All but $25.00 of the fee is refundable if inability to attend is made known on or before January 19, 2024.  Contact the CME office for refunds.

Late Registration: January 20, 2024 - January 24, 2024

  • Primary Care Providers: $100.00
  • Other Allied Health Professionals and Students: $75.00

Social workers completing this course receive 6.75 social work general continuing education credits.
