This conference will be held virtually through Zoom.

The purpose of this conference is to provide an update on a variety of topics of interest to enhance the knowledge of the PeriAnesthesia nurse.

Objectives
  1. Discuss a novel surgical technique and how patients and systems can benefit from minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
  2. Provide education about neurosurgery admission practice changes.
  3. Discuss Batten Disease and its new therapy, Cerliponase alfa.
  4. List the indications for appropriate patient populations that benefit from hypoglossal nerve stimulation.
  5. Identify evidence-based interventions for distraction, comfort and pain relief for a child with autism spectrum disorder.
  6. Explain the physiological significance of end-tidal CO2 (EtCO2), interpret EtCO2 waveforms in clinical scenarios, and apply EtCO2 monitoring to enhance patient assessment and decision-making as a fifth vital sign.

  • University of Iowa Health Care Attendee = $32

  • Non-University of Iowa Health Care Attendee = $40 (add $15 after February 11, 2026)

Registration deadline is February 25, 2026. The Zoom link and any additional conference details will be provided the week prior to the conference.

Refund: Full refund (minus $10 cancellation fee) if notification received on or before February 25, 2026.
