University of Iowa Update in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy 2026

The “what, how, and why” of gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy need to be addressed regularly as information evolves rapidly. Updates will be provided in didactic lectures with real world case applications. At the close of each lecture block, a panel discussion will allow for an interactive question & answer session and apply the material to real world scenarios posed by conference participants.

17. Explain how AI technology is integrated into endoscopic practice.
18. Critically appraise the clinical impact of AI-assisted polyp detection on patient outcomes.
19. Describe nutritional strategies for patients with short bowel syndrome.
20. Interpret USPSTF recommendations on low-volume colon preparation and apply them to clinical practice.
