Objectives

Upon completion of this activity membrs of the healthcare team should be able to: 


  1. Discuss team approaches to management of advanced heart failure
  2. Review guidelines to medical management for heart failure
  3. Identify emerging devices for treatment of heart failure
  4. Identify best methods for treatment of atrial arrhythmias
  5. Review valvular heart disease and examine therapies for treatment of valvular cardiomyopathy
  6. Explain the role of CRT and CCM in cardiomyopathy
  7. Define how palliative care is important for heart failure patients
  8. Identify surgical strategies in advance heart failure
  9. Identify early recognition and review management of infiltrative cardiomyopathies
  10. Explain management of cryptogenic stroke, ASD closure and PFO closure
  11. Review imaging and identify features of TTE/ TEE for stroke patients
  12. Discuss pulmonary hypertension and management of right ventricular failure
  13. Explain medical and surgical management of aortic aneurysm
  14. Review guidelines on management of atrial fibrillation
  15. Describe treatment of coronary disease in a non-ischemic cardiomyopathy patient
  16. Review the use of GLP1 agonists in the cardiac patient
  17. Discuss dietary tools for weight management
  18. Interpret echo findings in diastolic dysfunction
  19. Review management of unstable heart failure patients and cardiogenic shock
  20. Identify best methods for treatment of ventricular arrhythmias
