Objectives
  1. Describe burnout and how to recognize it in yourself and in others.
  2. Explain burnout prevention strategies.
  3. Explain data demonstrating negative outcomes associated with opioid use and conventional care.
  4. Identify hope and purpose as elements of recovery.
  5. Explain the data demonstrating benefits of yoga, tai chi, food as medicine and mind-body modalities in the management of chronic pain.
  6. Explain the treatment principles of traumatic fingertip injuries.
  7. Explain how to properly recognize, diagnose, and treat common foot and ankle injuries at the workplace.
  8. Describe the common misconceptions of work related shoulder injuries.
  9. Explain the provisions of medical care at mass gathering events.
  10. Explain the potential and impact that lifestyle, when used appropriately, can have on the prevention, treatment, and even reversal of chronic disease.
  11. Describe opportunities available to healthcare professionals in getting more involved in Lifestyle Medicine.
  12. Describe the nuances of Surety Medicine and the Personal Reliability Program, the implications for return to work, given the 2014 ACOEM Practice Guidelines for Opioids and Safety-Sensitive Work, and discuss impacts and potential approaches to various levels of site requirements.
  13. Explain various spine conditions and treatment options, including injections.
  14. Describe potential emerging infectious disease threats posed to healthcare workers.
  15. Describe recommended PPE and infection control practices to reduce the risk of nosocomial infection.
  16. Explain how to guide artists and musicians to good outcomes with their problematic musculoskeletal conditions.
